Ankara, Turkey, May 28, 2019 – Japan claimed a three set away victory over Turkey in front of their crowd on Tuesday in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
Turkey coach Giovanni Guidetti: “I apologize to the Ankara spectators. There’s nothing to say. We played very badly and that’s our level. Congratulations to Japan for the victory.”
Turkey player Meliha Ismailoglu: “So what can I say? We played really bad today against Japan. They made an amazing job in defence and attack. Congratulations to them.”
Japan captain Nana Iwasaka: “This is our first match in Ankara while Turkey played infront of their crowd. Many fans came to watch the match, that’s great. I’m happy that we won the match.”
Japan coach Kumi Nakada: “We knew that Turkey hadn’t lost any matches in the VNL and it was a challenge for us. We are glad to win.”
